I started my first cycle of HRT therapy back in May 2010, and I want to share some of the improvements I’ve noticed. Before I began my hormone replacement therapy, I was miserable. It seemed like I was always tired and in a bad mood.
Because I lacked energy, it took every ounce of sheer will to get through the workday. My high cholesterol and unstable blood sugar didn’t help the situation; I weighed more than 300 pounds at the time. Although my regular physician suggested lifestyle changes and put me on cholesterol drugs, I showed no signs of improvement over two years. I was a living stereotype: a fat, tired middle-aged guy in crisis mode. Honestly, I didn’t see myself reaching the age of 65. That’s when I decided to do some research.
After learning more about “male menopause,” I found the AAG Health site and called them to schedule some blood tests. The results showed I had low testosterone and a pronounced vitamin D deficiency. My AAG physician helped develop a treatment plan for me. By the end of the first treatment cycle, my blood sugar was stable and my blood pressure and cholesterol levels were at normal levels. I was even able to lose 40 pounds!
I was very happy with my blood test results and even happier to find that I was feeling like my old self again. I had the energy to start doing aerobics and weight training again. My sex life has improved tremendously, and my wife couldn’t be more excited; she said I hadn’t looked this good in ages. I have a family history of diabetes and heart disease, so HRT has even helped me reduce my risk of these conditions.
The helpful AAG staff deserves some recognition. I’m a very curious guy, so I had plenty of questions before and during my treatment. They were eager to answer all my inquiries and were very accessible. I can’t express how thankful I am for all their help during my treatment cycle. I can’t wait to see what awesome results the future holds!
