CVS, has recently dropped the well-known ED medication, Viagra, from its list of medications eligible for coverage under insurance benefits.
Patients with erectile dysfunction (ED) will instead be covered by Caremark for Cialis, which is another popular ED medication.
CVS acquired Caremark in 2007. This made CVS the second largest manager of prescription drug benefits for U.S. insurers and employers. That means its decisions on what drugs it will and will not cover, are very important to drug makers.
CVS didn’t say why it chose to drop coverage for Viagra, and start covering Cialis. Both oral ED medications are helpful to many men. Viagra’s patent will expire in two years. That means a generic version will be available. Some speculate this may have influenced CVS’s decision to cover Cialis instead.
Viagra Still Available
The decision does not mean that CVS stores will no longer carry Viagra. It will still be on the shelves for those whose prescription drug insurance does cover it, and for those willing to pay full price. Neither CVS nor its largest competitor, Express Scripts Holding Co, currently cover Levitra. Levitra is an oral ED medication made by Bayer.
Alternatives to ED Medication
Taking an oral ED medication may not be your best option, regardless if your insurance company covers them or not. When seeking the right ED treatment, cost should not be your only concern.
The familiar ED drugs are not right for all men. Men with high blood and/or diabetes should not take most ED prescription medications. Viagra can be very dangerous for men who may be taking nitrates for a heart condition.
For such men, or anybody seeking a drug free alternative to cure ED, there is help available.
The Gains Enhancement is a proven medical treatment for erectile dysfunction. The Gains Enhancement is not a drug. It is also surgery-free and side effect free.
That is because the Gains Enhancement is made from your own blood using platelet rich plasma or PRP. PRP is a kind of stem cell therapy. PRP concentrates the healing and growth factors found in your own blood into a pain free injection.
The stem cells and growth factors in PRP stimulate improved blood flow to the penis. They also renew and revitalize erectile tissue.
After taking a small sample of your blood, a centrifuge is used to separate the undifferentiated stem cells from your white and red blood cells.
The special ingredients in the Gains Enhancement provide you with an improved ability to obtain bigger and longer lasting erections. In addition, the Gains Enhancement is the only non-surgical ED treatment proven to significantly increase penis size! Increase in length of inches or more have been reported. There is no oral ED medication that can do all that!
